What is the texas pledge?

The Texas pledge is a pledge of allegiance to the state of Texas. It was adopted in 1933 and is recited by schoolchildren in Texas each morning in addition to the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag. The Texas pledge reads:

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."

The words "under God" were added to the Texas pledge in 2007, making it slightly different from the original version. The Texas pledge is a way for Texans to show their pride and loyalty to their state, which has a strong cultural and historical identity.
